Photography Rental FAQ

Be respectful of your appointment time. There are clients booked before and after you. DO NOT show up early or stay past your allotted time. This is strictly enforced!

Please do not pick the flowers and watch your step to make not to trample any flowers in the flower fields. If you need flowers for your shoot, contact us to purchase.

CAN WE USE YOUR FLOWER FIELDS FOR A PHOTO SESSION?

Yes! We have one-hour blocks available on the hour via our online scheduling system. You can access our calendar here.

WHAT IF IT RAINS AT MY SESSION TIME?

Please reach out to us in advance. We do offer rescheduled appointments for inclement weather; however, it must be actively raining for the booking. We don’t allow reschedules if the fields may be a bit damp from rain earlier in the day. You will find that most generally, our flower fields are not muddy, nor hard to get around in.

WHAT IF I MISS MY APPOINTMENT?

You can reschedule your appointment up to 1 hour before. We do not offer refunds for missed appointments.

DO YOU GIVE REFUNDS?

We do not give refunds.

CAN I APPLY MY RENTAL FEE TO A PEPPERHARROW CLASS OR MERCH FOR A MISSED APPOINTMENT?

Our small flower farm depends on the income from our classes and merch, so this is not an exchange we offer.

WHAT IF I’M NOT A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, NOR HAVE A PROFESSIONAL CAMERA?

Currently, we only offer the farm for professional photographers with business liability insurance.

WHAT IF MY CLIENTS CANCEL AT THE LAST MINUTE?

We offer reschedules online within 1 hour before. We do not offer refunds for cancellation or missed appointments.

CAN I HAVE MINI-SESSIONS?

No, mini sessions are not allowed.

CAN I FLY MY DRONE?

No, drones are not allowed.

CAN I ARRIVE EARLY TO SCOPE OUT SHOT LOCATIONS?

We do not allow early access. We oftentimes even have another photographer out with their client before your session and this could be a disruption. Please do not arrive any earlier than 10 minutes before your session, with access starting at your designated reservation time.

WHAT IS THERE TO TAKE PICTURES OF?

Our farm is bursting with gorgeous photo opportunities. We grow flowers in a rainbow of colors, as well as wildflower fields, gorgeous old buildings, and scenic views. We highly encourage photographers to research prospective locations on our farm to shoot via our own social media pages, Instagram or Facebook. This gives a good idea of a general idea of what we have in bloom during different times in the season. However, this is a working flower farm: some flowers may vary, depending on weather and time of year.

WHAT COLORS OF FLOWERS WILL YOU HAVE IN BLOOM?

At any given time during our growing season, there’s a rainbow of different colored flowers available as a backdrop for photos; however, our flower farm really gets going with loads of blooms from July through the beginning of October. We receive this question many times from your clients directly. Please make sure to advise your clients to wear solid, neutral colors for the best photos possible. Please keep in mind, we cannot guarantee any particular flower will be blooming.

WHAT IF I’M RUNNING LATE OR OVER MY ALLOTTED RENTAL TIME WITH MY CLIENTS?

DO NOT stay past your allotted time! Most often, we have photographers lined up before and after scheduled photography slots. Please be respectful of the time for your scheduled appointment and plan accordingly.

WHEN WILL SUNFLOWERS BE IN BLOOM?

This the most asked question we receive! Sunflowers in bloom depend on the weather and when we plant them in the ground. Please watch our social media feeds for details. We will be sure to keep everyone up to date on when we expect to have them in full bloom. We do several plantings a year and will try to have some available from June through the end of September. Please note: We cannot estimate or guarantee dates when the sunflowers will be blooming.

DO I NEED BUSINESS LIABILITY INSURANCE TO RENT YOUR FARM FOR PHOTOGRAPHY?

Yes. We require the photographers who rent our farm to carry a business liability insurance umbrella policy.

CAN I BRING MY PETS OR A CLIENT’S PETS?

No, we have several dogs and cats around the farm and visiting animals can be a disruption. Please keep pets at home.
